ABSTRACT

A. Intercalation Compounds of B/C/N Hybrid Layered B/C/N hybrids obtained by reaction (4) were both oxidatively and reductively intercalated [5]. Oxidative intercalation with liquid S20 6F2 (an S 03F radical source) for B0.35C0.30N0.35 yielded an intercalation compound with a in terlayer spacing of about 0.81 nm (expansion: 0.47 nm + interlayer spacing of the starting material: 0.34 nm = 0.81 nm), which is similar to the graphite salt C7SO3F and the boron nitride salt (BN)3S 03F [30,31]. Reductive intercalation by sodium of B0.35C0.30N0.35 was carried out by using a 0.5 M solution of sodium
