ABSTRACT
Exotic, tropical fruits such as cherimoya, guava, carambola, persim mon, passion fruit, mango, prickly pear and papaya have been known to and enjoyed by local people for centuries and it is only recently that west ern consumers are becoming more aware of them. International demand has turned fruits into commercially valuable crops and consequently trade in exotic fruits is increasing rapidly.
