Radical Concrete Technology. Edited by R K Dhir and P C Hewlett. Published in 1996 by E & FN Spon, 2-6 Boundary Row, London SE1 8HN, UK. ISBN 0 419 21480 1. ABSTRACT. This paper presents results of studies on high-early strength binding materials made on the basis of special portland cements with complex chemical admixtures which include surface-active substances and alkali metals salts. These binders are characterized by reduced water consumption and regulated setting period, and accelerated hardening at low, ambient and elevated temperatures. KEYWORDS: Alkali metals salts, Surface-active substances, Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC), Gypsum-free Portland Cement (GFPC). Professor, Dr.Sc. Myroslav A Sanitsky is the head of the division “The Technology of Binding Materials (Cements)”, State University “Lviv Polytechnic”, Lviv, Ukraine. He specialises in the investigation of rapid-hardening Portland cement compositions for using at low, ambient and elevated temperatures. Professor Sanitsky has published widely. He is an Academician of the Academy of Civil Engineering of Ukraine. Dr Volodymyr M Melnyk is an engineer, Chair of The Chemical Technology of Silicates, State University “Lviv Polytechnic”. He is Supervisor of the Test Laboratory of Building Materials. Mr Petro M Chaba is General Director of PBO “Lvivmiskbud”. He is an Academician of the Academy of Civil Engineering of Ukraine.
