ABSTRACT
The potential negative impact of climate changes already forecasted by recent studies (IPCC, 2013) makes research on coffee adaptation to abiotic and biotic stresses an urgent priority. The perennial status of coffee and also the long period required for conventional breeding also highlights the special attention required on these research topics as well as on the need for alternative faster breeding methods for coffee.
