ABSTRACT
Palpation per rectum should be performed in all animals of adequate size. The proximal urethra, bladder, ureters, and the left kidney should be evaluated. The proximal urethra is located before the brim of the pelvis. The examiner should thereafter systematically explore the bladder, ureters, and the caudal pole of the left kidney.
