ABSTRACT

DEFINITION Genital adornment, either temporary or permanent, implies any process which a human being consciously uses for enhancing his or her genital anatomy. By this definition, circumcision, either male or female, whether it be for health, societal, religious, or cultural reasons, is not considered within this definition and is discussed elsewhere. It should also be realized that genital adornment, although it may be solitary, is often combined with adornment of other parts of the body1.
