ABSTRACT
Al Gore may have been unsuccessful in running for U.S. president, but he has been a lightning rod in highlighting the impact of human industry on the environment, garner ing an academy award for his documentary An Inconvenient Truth. Global warming, however, is not the only consequence of the 80,000 synthetic compounds used in the United States during the last half-century (1). One of our most basic human goals – reproduction – is also being affected.
