3.2 Appeal against conviction where defendant pleaded guilty

We saw in Chapter 6, 6.2 that a defendant who pleads guilty in the magistrates’ court cannot appeal against conviction to the Crown Court if he pleaded guilty (s 108 of the Magistrates’ Courts Act 1980). There is no such rule in s 1 of the Criminal Appeal Act 1968.
