ABSTRACT

This book is part of a growing series which began with the publication in 1996 of Feminist Perspectives on the Foundational Subjects of Law.1 As with the other collections in the series, we have sought to draw together a range of voices and perspectives linked by both their focus on a particular area of law and by their feminist approach to that subject. We have attempted not to provide a comprehensive account of the subject area, but to draw together a body of work which will examine the subject at varying levels of abstraction and from a variety of perspectives.
