ABSTRACT
If the applicant is the claimant and the court is satisfied that the respondent’s defence (or any issues within it) has no real prospect of success and there is no other compelling reason why the case should proceed to trial, it can enter judgment for the claimant for the whole claim or on a particular issue or issues (PD 24, para 5.1(1)).
