ENFORCEMENT OF JUDGMENTS AND ORDERS

Once an order is made or judgment is entered for a claimant, if the defendant fails or refuses to comply with that order or judgment, the claimant may then take further steps to enforce it. There are a variety of different methods of enforcing orders and judgments and a choice can usually be made as to which method to employ. However, there are some restrictions on the methods that can be employed, depending on the nature and size of the judgment and the capacity of the defendant.
