ABSTRACT
The provisions for statements of case are contained in CPR Part 16 and the Practice Direction thereto. ‘Statement of case’ is the new term for a pleading and includes: • a claim form; • particulars of claim where these are not included in a claim form; • a defence; • a Part 20 claim; • a reply to defence; and • any further information given in relation to them voluntarily or by court
order (see definition in r 2.3(1)).
