ABSTRACT

Most community mediation services routinely undertake all the mediation work using two mediators working together, and this chapter has so far assumed this without looking at it in any depth. This may seem a resourceintensive manner of working which has to be justified and it also carries some logistical problems. There are risks that mediators may not find it easy to work together and a good deal of preparation and team building is necessary. Communication between co-mediators is vitally important before, during and after any work.
