chapter  10
REWRITING THE DOCTOR: MEDICAL LAW, LITERATURE AND FEMINIST STRATEGY
Pages 16

Feminist theorists have successfully problematised the disciplines of law and medicine.2 More pertinently, the interaction of these disciplines has been recognised as an important axis for feminist strategic engagement.3 In this chapter I intend to build upon this work. I shall argue that consideration of the female subject constructed at the axis of law and medicine has potentially profound implications that reach beyond these disciplines. Before moving on to provide an outline of the theoretical basis for the project argued for within this chapter, there is value in providing a more general introduction.
