ABSTRACT

This Law prohibits the contracting of electoral advertising on terrestrial local television stations, regardless of the manner in which they operate.

However, the free insertion of propaganda on these stations is allowed when operated directly by the city council for the benefit of political parties, federations, coalitions and groups that participate in municipal elections in those areas where such political parties present their candidates. This excludes the possibility of inserting these free spaces in campaigns other than municipal elections, where it would be too complicated to apply the standards of proportionality in the distribution of space, as they may be broadcast by an important number of local television stations.
