ABSTRACT
A tort is a civil wrong, not being a breach of contract or trust, and is mainly concerned with compensating an injured party for the acts of a wrongdoer. Generally, liability for the commission of a tort can only arise if the wrongdoer owes a duty of care to the injured party and by his action or inaction the wrongdoer has breached that duty resulting in the injured party suffering damage.
