ABSTRACT
The main part of the gastro intestinal system (GIS) is the gut or gastro intestinal tract (GIT), which is, essentially, a hollow tube. It starts at the lips, through which food or nutrient material is ingested or taken in, and ends at the anus, through which food residues are egested or discharged and voided.
