ABSTRACT
Most surgeons and oncologists in the UK recommend primary radiotherapy for pyriform sinus tumours which present without involved lymph nodes in the neck. The exception to this is a large tumour causing obstruction to the airway, where primary surgery would be preferred. External-beam radiotherapy is used in the same way as for the larynx.
