ABSTRACT
Occasionally, patients present with abnormal audiograms which are inconsistent and suspect, and it becomes apparent that they have normal hearing. Some are deliberately pretending to be deaf. Others appear to manifest deafness for psychological reasons of which they are unconscious. It is these who are described as having a non-organic hearing loss (NOHL).
