ABSTRACT

Domestic burglary is one of the most common and serious property crime offences. In England and Wales domestic burglary currently accounts for around 6-8 per cent of all crime (Dodd et al. 2004), although this represents a historic low after a sustained fall over a number of years. Domestic burglary is also commonly a significant problem across much of the developed world (Van Kesteren et al. 2000).
