ABSTRACT
The PPLS covers 118,108ha in the Municipality of Peñablanca, Province of Cagayan in Region 2, northeast of Luzon Island about 508km north of Metropolitan Manila. It connects with the Sierra Madre Biodiversity Corridor in the south, which is a part of the Northern Sierra Madre Protected Area System that stretches from the Province of Isabela in the north and down to the Province of Quezon in the south. It was established in its current form in 2003, thereby extending the previously established but much smaller protected areas.
