ABSTRACT
Indoor air quality (IAQ) is an important parameter in buildings, strongly related to the health of the occupants and therefore to their comfort. The aim of this chapter is to discuss the important role of IAQ and to present the ventilation systems and strategies that can be applied in urban buildings. Additionally, the chapter includes the requirement levels and the national standards of various pollutants and the procedures that can be used in order to evaluate the IAQ parameter.
