ABSTRACT
The incidence of failed intubation is higher in obstetric anaesthesia than in the general population. In one UK region, the incidence was 1 in 238 anaesthetics and in half of the cases reviewed there was a failure to follow an accepted protocol for failed tracheal intubation.
