ABSTRACT

It is well recognized that the majority of factors, which determine the ease of disassembly and its economics, are made during the design phase. Lately, designers are being challenged to address the concept of 'ease of disassembly' during creation of new product designs [6). To help designers define these disassembly objectives, translate them into engineering specifications and evaluate and improve disassemblability of candidate designs, a framework known as "Design for Disassembly" has been introduced.
