ABSTRACT

Kaolin is a mineral that is widely used in industry for its many useful properties. The properties that define the idoneity of kaolin for its different applications are its crystallographic and mineralogical characteristics (kaolinite purity of raw samples), chemical characteristics (Na, Ca, Mg, K, Ti, Fe, Si and Al content), and physical traits (colour before and after calcination, abrasivity, yellowness and whiteness indices) ([3], [4], [5], [8]).
