ABSTRACT
Nobody can deny that the introduction of the biometric technologies
has represented a significant step ahead in the field of security.
Anyway, beyond all the technological triumphalism, the experience
gained through the on-field applications has clearly shown that
the aspects connected to the legal, social, and ethical fields play a
fundamental role in biometrics.
