ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we focus on how to use various techniques to
coat nanoparticles with a surfactant and thus finally make a stable
suspension. To use a particle suspension in a liquid crystal (LC) host,
the particle suspensionmust have aminimumor, better, no presence
of free surfactant (free state), while maximum amount of surfactant is bound to the particle surface (bound state). The optimization of the surfactant used on the nanoparticles is the subject of this
chapter.
