ABSTRACT
This chapter is intended to provide a brief introduction of
transmission electron microscopy techniques with respect to their
application in studying the structures of supported nanocatalysts.
Mainly it is focused on basic principles and the latest development in
this field to show the capabilities of a modern electron microscope.
Examples of TEM characterization are selected from Au-based
catalysts rather for some common interests relevant to structures
than for specific catalytic reactions.
