ABSTRACT
This chapter describes a particular class of multirate filters and
the potential that they bring to communication systems and in
particular to modern wideband software radios. Multirate filters
have the capability of optimizing the sample rate while processing
signals and this characteristic provides many advantages to digital
systems. Cost and computational complexity reduction, improved
performance and reduced chip size, power and weight are just some
of them.
