Woody Allen, who first became famous as a stand- up comedian and writer of comedy routines, also has had a distinguished career as a playwright, actor, screenwriter and director. While his celebrity status is attributed to some of his better-known early films such as 'Annie Hall', 'Manhattan', 'Hannah and her Sisters' he has produced more than ten new films in the past decade.
