ABSTRACT
This paper describes an action-research project, carried out within the framework of the New Information and Communication Technologies Programme of the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science. The aim is to encourage the participation of girls in learning via the new technologies. It is assumed that girls are less motivated towards participation in new technology-related activities than boys, as a result of sex role stereotypes in society claiming masculine superiority in scientific and technical matters.
