ABSTRACT
His Majesty's ships Minerva and Active, being on separate cruizes, and not having any information of the French war, were taken by surprise by frigates of that nation, and carried into Cape Francois. This misfortune had such an effect upon the captains of these ships, that they died soon afterwards.
