ABSTRACT

The subject of computer techniques in schools already began to attract interest in the 1960s, but it was not until 1971 that the Government instructed the NBE to investigate the educational implications of computers in schools. This led to the DIS-project, the results of which were presented in 1980. The DIS-group recommended that pupils in grade 9 should be given basic instruction, corresponding to 20 teaching periods, on computers and their use in society, i.e. computer science.
