ABSTRACT

The swell of analysts working within the industry has grown considerably over the years and regardless of whether they are in full-time employment or not many would benefit from objective feedback on where they are in their personal development. Given that each organisation in elite sport is always striving to gain a competitive advantage over their opponents, it can often prove quite difficult for practitioners to understand how other teams approach answering performance questions and what is current best practice.

As such, governing bodies often want to seek external feedback on the quality of work being delivered across all departments within their teams. This is where ISPAS can play an important role in providing objective feedback to organisations about the quality of performance analysis delivery to their teams by individuals and the department as a whole. By implementing a rigorous accreditation system ISPAS can begin to build up data on the landscape of performance analysis services internationally. Multiple lenses can be applied to the data set to profile how the delivery varies across sports, in performance versus pathway, professional versus Olympic sport and the associated costs of this.
