ABSTRACT
This paper reviews the achievements in consumer product safety measures since the early seventies and looks into the perspectives of global markets. It will also address the opportunities und threats of liberalization of markets, in view of ensuring the provision of a sustainable development of minimum safety requirements an extending part of the world's population.
