ABSTRACT
The KOMAG Mining Mechanization Center takes an active part in the technical restructuring of the Polish coal mining industry. The paper gives several examples of the state-of-the art mechanization systems characterized by high safety, productivity and reliability developed by KOMAG. It also reviews a new generation of shearers, armored face conveyors, powered roof supports, road-heading systems as well as preparation plant equipment. Mining machines and equipment offered by the KOMAG Center, are subjected to comprehensive laboratory tests with a simulation of real loads and operational conditions.
