ABSTRACT

Investors in People' is an award of public recognition achieved by companies who pursue business success through the continuous development of their management and staff. The first step on the 'Investor's' journey is to find out how strong the school's commitment is to people. The benefits to the school arise from the achievement of the Award and the recognition that it has achieved the Standard. Primary schools have been in the forefront of this course expansion and it is possible to see a change in the schools involved. The process for each school commenced with an audit of the current position with respect to the Standard, and the preparation of an Action Plan. The training sessions were held over a seven month period and were attended by heads and deputies from each school. If through 'Investors' a person feels more valued and that their training is more focused, then it should follow that their performance is improved in the classroom.
