ABSTRACT

Students work in groups of three. They discuss each statement and decide which is most likely to belong to which photograph. They put the statement number in the correct side of the sheet. Students must be able to justify their decision. Each group of three then joins with another group to form a six: they compare and discuss their decisions. Students who finish before the rest can then make up further statements. Bring the whole class together for a final discussion, and focus on between three and four statements. This is a chance for you and the students to challenge misconceptions or at least recognise that there may be alternative views and justifications.
