ABSTRACT

Workplace hazards that contribute to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) (injuries and illnesses) must be

controlled in effective ways. Methods to control these hazards are available and have been practically

tested NIOSH.1 The most common approaches or methods used are:

1. Engineering controls — This is always considered to be the preferred solution to workplace hazards

that may contribute to MSDs. In addition, it is the best solution to reduce and even prevent

human errors. Engineering controls are discussed in part v of this book.
