ABSTRACT

The genesis of Agile is found in a group of software development methodologies. The Project Management Institute (PMI) offers a PMI Agile Certified Practitioner designed to formally recognize an individual’s knowledge of agile principles and skills with agile techniques. Probably the most recognized word when Agile is applied to project management is Scrum. In the Scrum version of Agile, Sprints are collections of work confined to a regular, repeatable work cycle, known as a sprint or iteration. Agile manufacturing not only enables a plant to achieve rapid response to customer needs, but also includes the ability to quickly reconfigure operations—and strategic alliances—to respond rapidly to unforeseen shifts in the marketplace. Agile Project Management promotes a value-driven approach that allows project managers to deliver high-priority, high-quality work. It is an iterative, incremental method of managing the design and building activities.
