ABSTRACT

Lady Iseut of Capieu begged Lady Almue(i)s of Castelnou to pardon her knight, Sir Gigo of Tomen, who had committed a grave offense against her and did not repent or even ask for pardon: Please, Lady Almues, I wish to address to you this plea: That mercy for him put an end To your anger and bad feeling; For he sighs and moans, Dies languishing and complains, Begs humbly for your pardon. I make a pledge to you on his behalf: That even though you wish to end it with him, He will be much more careful about ever committing an offense. (253, 1)
