ABSTRACT

This chapter aims to detect the reserves of improving the production structure of the Russian dairy industry by identifying the key factors of such reserves, starting from 2012. The problems of the Russian domestic dairy industry are similar to the other elements of the Russian agro-industrial complex: low level of technological development, poor infrastructure, insufficient level of trade government protection, and low protection of domestic producers. Insufficient development of logistics, lack of organized ways of milk marketing, and the radius growth of its delivery are increasing the transportation costs and their percentage in the total production expenses significantly. The costs of treatment also increase due to the insufficient development of dairy logistics infrastructure, as well as with insufficient adjustment of trading activity in Russia. The chapter analyzes following groups of indicators: volumes of raw material production; production of processed products; and efficiency of agricultural production. It concludes that leader of agro-industrial complex of Russian Federation dairy industry is Tatarstan.
