ABSTRACT

Demographic data set the context for understanding student learning results. Demographics also indicate how the district is set up to serve its clients. As people read and consider the data, consider the connections across the data elements as well. Canyon View School District is located in a major United States (US) mountain range. The city in which the district is located is a hub of education and healthcare with a population of about 26,000. The school district, with an enrollment of just under 8,000, includes two high schools, one alternative high school, two middle schools, and 11 elementary schools. The majority of students receiving special education assistance were learning disabled and speech and language impaired. Canyon View high schools have offered five advanced placement classes for the past four years.
