ABSTRACT

Aquarius is a large Zodiacal constellation, but it is not at all prominent, and the only two stars above the third magnitude are Beta and Alpha - both of which are powerful G-type supergiants, well over 5,000 times as luminous as the Sun and almost 1,000 light-years away. Zeta is a fine binary; the components are of magnitudes 4.3 and 4.5, and the present separation is 2 seconds of arc. Zeta is a fine binary; the components are of magnitudes 4.3 and 4.5, and the present separation is 2 seconds of arc. Equuleus is very small and obscure; only Alpha is above the fourth magnitude. Alpha makes up a triangle with Delta and Gamma.
