ABSTRACT
While the research on the experiences of LGBTQ youth in the child welfare system has been scarce, there have been a few studies in recent years that have been instrumental in creating a greater understanding of the issues facing LGBTQ youth in foster care. Increased attention aimed at better understanding the unique experiences of LGBTQ youth in the child welfare system will help to improve visibility of this population, as well as provide insights for future practice and policy efforts aimed at creating a more inclusive system of care.
