ABSTRACT

Artificial intelligence (AI) has developed considerably since the time John McCarthy introduced the world to this term in 1956 at Dartmouth, and AI has spread its wings across the horizon since then. It has propagated across almost every field of research and our daily lives in the form of multifarious devices and applications. One promising application of AI is document analysis. It involves the use of natural language processing, which is the task of automatically understanding human language. At times, such systems need document image processors or optical character recognizers (OCRs) to decode what is written when input documents are supplied in the form of images. First, the machine that is identifying the texts must be able to understand what is written, and then it analyzes the meaning of the texts.
