ABSTRACT

M r. Huang is a 66-year-old Taiwanese American who immigrated to the United States last year to join his daughter and her family after his wife passed away in Taiwan. Although he was initially hesitant about moving to the United States, he felt that it was the only option because he was retired from his calligraphy business and has no other children living in Taiwan; he has another daughter, but she lives in Canada. Mr. Huang also felt that by moving in with his daughter, he could see his two grandchildren, whom he has not been able to see regularly.
