ABSTRACT

To the best of our knowledge, the use of the visual attributes in the online shopping has not been exploited yet and for this reasonwe consider thiswork very innovative in this area. For example the visual attributes can be used by a user as a method to search the products with particular characteristics which may be congenial for him. For example they can be used in a typical faceted navigation, where the user can search for an item in a structure where all the facets of an item are a possible entry point. At the same time these visual attributes can be integrated in Content-Based Image Retrieval engines for the estimation of the similarity between different images, for example in a query by example system.
