ABSTRACT

It is not unusual for people newly introduced to TA to embrace the philosophical principle of `people are OK' enthusiastically. They go around `being OK' with others, adopt a positive view of people and challenge others who they experience as behaving or viewing others in ways which might be considered `not OK'. Although this can certainly make for a more pleasant world and is the beginning of developing an accepting therapeutic stance, congruent with a humanistic model, it can also develop into a deeply problematic position.
