ABSTRACT

The limits of observation have been deliberately established the changes in the organization of the activity over a period of time would comprise a study of behavior development. In any study of behavior development a necessary procedure at the outset is the determination of the scope of inquiry. But before becoming too concerned over units of measurement or quantitative determinations, investigators in the field of behavior development should first of all consider the nature or quality of the phenomenon being investigated. The nodal points of a psycho-motor expression may be called a behavior pattern, or an experimental organism, so long as it is the organization of neuromuscular movements which concerns the investigator. Admission of the word "development," or changes in behavior, imposes upon the investigator the necessity of observing the same or comparable observational fields from time to time.
